Event #24 – Jeff Tebben wins $1k NLHE

Jeff Tebben went into the final table of the latest $1k NLHE event as the short stack with only a few big blinds remaining but a combination of a whole load of aggression and a little bit of luck saw him walk away over half a million dollars richer and in possession of an all important WSOP bracelet.

Tebben could have been forgiven for just trying work his way up the leader board for an increased pay day but hitting cards at just the right time gave him just the boost he needed. Once he got some chips the Kansas native became increasingly dangerous, piling on the pressure with an aggressive style of play.


After eliminating Kiet Tran in third place, Tebben was left to battle it out with overnight chip leader JD McNamara. After half an hour of heads up play Tebben sealed the win, coming from behind to hit trip kings to overturn the Canadian's pocket jacks.


“It’s definitely the biggest moment of my life, without question. I never in a million years thought I could come down here and win a WSOP bracelet.” said the delighted winner.


Irishman Denis Murphy also put in en excellent performance, eventually busting out in fourth place for a $162,568 score.
