Event #2 - $50k Players' Championship Final Table set

Tuesday, 1 June 2010

The final table of the $50k Players' Championship may not boast the most high profile names but it is still stacked in terms of quality. Leading the way are the Mizrachis, who join the Boatman brothers as the only siblings to play at the same WSOP final table.

Older brother Robert Mizrachi leads the way going into the final with Michael in fifth position. Sandwiched between the pair are David Baker in second, WSOPE Main Event winner John Juanda in third and Mikael Thuritz in fourth. Long time chip leader Vladimir Schmelev, Daniel Alaei and David Oppenheim complete the final table.

It's one thing to bubble in a $1,000 buy in event, quite another in the Players' Championship where the minimum cash is a very handy $98k. Kirk Morrison was the unlucky bubble boy, busting out in 17th place after he couldn't overturn Daniel Alaei's two pair in seven card stud. Andy Bloch is still hunting for that elusive maiden bracelet win but will have the consolation of $98k after squeaking into the money. Last year's $10,000 No Limit Deuce to Seven Draw champion Nick Schulman was the final table bubble boy, his small pair unable to outrun John Juanda's eight high straight.

After rounds of mixed games the final table will be exclusively No Limit Hold'em. Join us tomorrow to see who will be wearing the most prestigious bracelet at this year's World Series.
