Event #13 - $1k NLHE Day 2 ends with 56 remaining

Tuesday, 8 June 2010

Unsurprisingly the third $1,000 NL event attracted another monstrous field with 3,042 players putting up a grand to compete in Event #13 of the 2010 World Series of Poker. After a fast and furious Day 1 and Day 2 just 56 players remain in contention.

We began the second day of the tournament with 446 players. Of those, 122 hit the rail empty-handed while everyone who made it to the last 324 cashed. Now every player is guaranteed a $6,132 payout with the top prize set at $472,479.

Bill Chen, Kelly Kim and John “The Razor” Phan were just some of the players who couldn’t survive the second day, though Andy Black and Ylon Schwarz give hope to the pro contingent still soldiering on in the 56-strong field.

Matt Vance holds the chip lead with over half a million stacked before him. The top five chip counts are as follows:

1 Matthew Vance 547,000
2 Christopher Brammer 518,000
3 Mats Gavatin 450,000
4 Daniel Carter 417,000
5 Carl Olson 325,000
