Channing in $1,500 NL Event #30 final 21

Friday, 18 June 2010

When the money bubble burst in Event #30 there were still plenty of potential challengers to both the bracelet and the $581,851 first place prize. However when Carlos Mortensen busted in 23rd place it was left to a select few.

Neil Channing is of course our pick, no bias there. He finds himself tenth place in the chip counts after playing some great poker – if his Twitter feed is to be believed – to rocket himself up the chip counts.

Dave “DocSands” Sands is still alive though and that does not bode well for the other 20 players in the tournament with him. With online tournament winnings topping the $1.1m mark he’s a lethal force in any large event; his opponents will draw some consolation from his below-average chip stack.

The top five chip counts are as follows:
1 Christopher Gonzales 1,315,000
2 Martin Jacobson 1,098,000
3 Christopher Kastler 1,097,000
4 David Wilkinson 709,000
5 Jeff Cohen 682,000
