$1,000 NL Event #24 drawing near to final table

Tuesday, 15 June 2010

The $1,000 NL event has seen a starting field of 3,289 reduced to just 32 as Day 2 draws to a close. Uniquely we can report that there are no big poker names alive in the field – Tom Dwan, Isaac Haxton, Michael Binger, Liv Boeree, Arnaud Mattern and Dave Sands all began Day 2 with chips but hit the rail relatively early.

At the moment Greg Pohler leads the field with a huge stack of over three-quarter million but Denis Murphy isn’t far behind. Each player that reaches the final table is guaranteed at least $38,629 while at the moment anyone who busts will receive $11,870.

The big prize, of course, is huge – over half a million dollars plus the WSOP bracelet for first place; to be precise it is $503,389 with the top five finishers in the tournament guaranteed a six-figure payout.

The top chip counts are as follows:
1.Greg Pohler 770,000
2.Denis Murphy 725,000
3.Edgar de la Torre 540,000
4.Jaymes Rosenthal 510,000
5.John Tolbert 440,000
