WSOP bracelet wager from Negreanu

WSOP bracelet wager from Negreanu

Monday, 9 May 2011

This year's World Series of Poker is just three weeks away now and one of the biggest names in the game has thrown down a wager to spice up the bracelet action.

Daniel Negreanu tweeted this morning “Btw ladies and gentlemen, I'm ready to gamble on winning a bracelet this year. Will take 3-1 OR will bet me vs whoever.”

Kid Poker isn't the only player who likes to spice up the WSOP action with some high stakes side action. Tom Dwan stood to win a reported $8m in side bets should he have won a bracelet last year. Durrrr came tantalisingly close to crippling many of his high stakes opponents after a deep run in the $1,500 NLHE event. Unknown New Zealander Simon Watt eventually beat Durrrr heads up leading to loud exhales of relief from the likes of Negreanu and Mike Matusow.

Phil Ivey is another who freshens up the action at the Rio with some high stakes side bets. Ivey reportedly has $5m on the line against Howard Lederer should be win another bracelet this year.

As for Negreanu's offer, well given the amount of work he has been putting in recently he should have his A game with him come WSOP time. We'll be keeping the Bluff fiver firmly in our pocket.
