After the banning of internet poker in Washington State many had predicted hard times for the online game in America. That pessimism appears to be misplaced if a new survey from comScore Media Matrix is to be believed.

According to the study, threre were 32 million visitors to online gaming sites in October, a 114% increase in traffic compared to September 2010. Full Tilt Poker topped the charts with 4.7 million visitors (up 12%) followed by PokerStars with 2.5million, UltimateBet with 1.8 million and Absolute Poker on 1.6 million.

Jeff Hackett, executive vice president of comScore Media Metrix, put the growth down to “interest in the 2010 World Series of Poker”.
