On March 14, 2007 the World Series of Poker (WSOP) organisers will be holding a teleconference for poker players to pit questions on the 38th annual tourney to officials.
It is believed that the teleconference will be restricted to the press who are likely to voice the concerns of poker players the world over on the absence of the online poker rooms which have helped to triple the size of the competition across the last three years.
Reports suggest that attendance this year could drop to about a quarter of what it was at the 2006 event, as a consequence of the decision to sever all ties with online poker rooms, in light of the move by the US government to ban online gambling.
WSOP recently announced that it would capitalise on the expanding European market with a special tournament this year.
The teleconference is scheduled for 13:30 CT on March 14, 2007, but interested parties must contact the WSOP Media Relations and Operations team for an invite.
