As recently as yesterday, mobile media companies were gushing about how well poker downloads were selling to bored commuters and kids who have all but given up on books. And now it seems that there’s another two to add to the list.

As recently as yesterday, mobile media companies were gushing about how well poker downloads were selling to bored commuters and kids who have all but given up on books. And now it seems that there’s another two to add to the list.
Glu Mobile has tied up with the World Series of Poker to produce two WSOP branded titles: the cleverly titled WSOP Texas Hold ‘Em and WSOP Advisor. The former allows players to take part in a number of brief games, either in multiplayer mode, single person or a tournament style game. WSOP personalities are also being lined up to play and although they’ve yet to reveal their identities it’s believed at least four bracelet winners will be taking part. Plus the small matter of a winnings purse of $10 million, just in case you were undecided over to whether to buy it for your cell.
The Advisor package will do exactly what it says on the tin offering tips and strategies for both newcomers and experienced hands. According to Glu CEO Robert Nashak, the games will be,” … the most authentic experience available for the mobile phone.” But then he does stand to make a lot of money out of the whole thing.
