WSOP Main Event Day 4 complete –Tony Dunst leads

Wednesday, 14 July 2010

What a day! We began Day 4 of the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event with 1,208 survivors from four opening flights; two Day 2s and Day 3. We are leaving with 574 survivors firmly inside the money and online pro Tony “Bond18” Dunst leading the way having accumulated over 1.5m in chips.

The money bubble burst late on Day 4 with less than two hours to play. The bubble boy in question was fisherman Tim McDonald from Kentucky, who finished 748th when his QQ was cracked by A2o. He took it very well and has a free seat to the 2011 Main Event.

Notable highlights of the in the money action – too many to count. After McDonald left the room and the 747 remaining players realised they were guaranteed an almost 100% ROI the eliminations were fast and furious as almost 200 players hit the rail in ninety minutes. These included Patrik Antonius, Gavin Smith, Frank Kess, David Chiu and David Williams.

One note – all four (yes, there are four of them) Mizrachi brothers made the money, including Michael and Robert who have had an incredible WSOP. Eric Mizrachi has since left with over $10,000 profit from the WSOP Main Event but three are in contention – and if Michael wins he snatches the Player of the Year award from Frank Kassela.

The top five chip counts are as follows, note that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck seem to have crafted a super poker love-child in number four:

1 Tony Dunst 1,546,000
2 Duy Le 1,460,000
3 Garrett Adelstein 1,440,000
4 Matt Affleck 1,395,000
5 Phil Galfond 1,392,000
