A number of former World Series of Poker (WSOP) champs and other top poker pros will present some words of poker-playing wisdom at the inaugural WSOP Academy in Tunica which is scheduled for January 27 to 28, 2007.
Amongst those apparently sharing their expertise are Greg Raymer, Joe Navarro, Scott Fischman and Alex Outhred.
Having already collaborated with Phil Hellmuth on a series of poker camps, Post Oak Productions, a Toronto-based live events company, has set up the academy in association with Harrah's Entertainment.
The two-day camp will be comprised of interactive poker seminars and workshops, culminating in the opportunity for the amateurs to test their new-found knowledge against the pros in a No Limit Texas Hold 'em tourney.
'We have designed a curriculum that has been written and endorsed by our team of pro instructors,' a Post Oak spokesman said. 'It provides players with the tools that will take their game to the next level.'
At a rather pricey $1,699 for two days of tuition, the organisers are marketing the venture as a worthwhile investment which will quickly achieve payback when the punters use their new skills to win their share of pots.
