Event #52, $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em saw 2,693 players try to capture the last no limit hold’em bracelet that wouldn’t set them back $10,000. With a final table of nine having been whittled down, it was for pro David Daneshgar to claim his first bracelet to add to his lifetime winnings of over $1,600,000.
Daneshgar arrived at the final table in good shape to take the gold, with a fraction under 1.2 million in chips, placing him close to the leader Corwin Cole on 1.67 million. As the table played out, it was clear Daneshgar was on top of his game, smoothly moving to heads-up play against then chip leader Scott Sitron.
As the first hand of heads-up play was dealt, Sitron held almost a 5-3 advantage on chips. By the time the 40th hand had finished the chip lead had switched, and ten hands later Daneshgar’s pocket tens held up against the A-8 offsuit of Sitron to win the bracelet and $625,443.
