The final table of Event #18, $5,000 No-Limit 2-7 Draw w/ Rebuys may well have been the sickest final table of all time. The seven final-table players had won eight WSOP bracelets between them, as well as over $26 million in tournament winnings. Ater a gruelling final table, Mike 'The Mouth' Matusow was the last man standing, winning his third bracelet in the process.
The chip stacks and seating coming into the final table looked like this:
Seat 1: Jeffrey Lisandro - 461,000
Seat 2: Mike Matusow - 520,000
Seat 3: Tom Schneider - 162,000
Seat 4: Erick Lindgren - 1,104,000
Seat 5: Barry Greenstein - 541,000
Seat 6: Tony 'G' Guoga - 394,000
Seat 7: David Benyamine - 410,000
Matusow secured his first bracelet since 2002 after he got heads-up with Lisandro. Moving all in from the button, Matusow was called by Lisandro, who drew one. Matusow thought for a while before deciding whether to break his hand or stand pat, but finally stood with a Q-8-7-4-3. Lisandro showed a 9-6-5-3, meaning any Jack, Ten, 8, 7, 4 or 2 would be good enough to win the hand. He drew a queen, leaving ‘The Mouth’ as the winner of Event 18, as well as $537,862 in prize money.
