Some of the big name pros made it to the $2,500 Mixed Omaha-Stud Hi/Low tournament at the Rio, including Greg Raymer, Todd Brunson, Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi, Daniel Negreanu and Mike 'The Mouth' Matusow.

Some of the big name pros made it to the $2,500 Mixed Omaha-Stud Hi/Low tournament at the Rio, including Greg Raymer, Todd Brunson, Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi, Daniel Negreanu and Mike 'The Mouth' Matusow. At the close of play on Day 1 it was Jordan Rich who led a bunch of players all hot on his heels.

This tournament has a unique structure where eight hands of Omaha/Stud Hi/Lo alternate. This meant different games were being played at various tables. Early bust outs included Shannon Elizabeth, Josh Arieh and Daniel Negreanu.

As the day progressed, more of the pros headed to the rail after their quest for the bracelet came to an end. Gavin Griffin, Stuart Paterson, Justin 'ZeeJustin' Bonomo, Cyndy Violette, Kristy Gazes. Barry Greenstein, Mike Matusow, John Juanda and Max Pescatori were amongst one of the most star-studded rails you’re liking to see in a $2,500 buy in event for some time.

The overnight leaderboard makes for promising viewing on Day 2. Up amongst the chip leaders are Michael Mizrachi and Steve Zolotow, two players who are due a big tournament win. Will this be the one? We’ll find out later this evening when players return for Day 2.
