As one tournament draws to a close another is just getting started as the WSOP enters its third day of action inside the Rio casino.

The last 24 hours has seen the $500 employee event crown a winner and the $5,000 eight-handed tournament move one step closer to a final table. Indeed, having started the day with 194 players, including Tom Marchese, David Sands and David Vamplew, still in contention, the $5,000 event is now down to just 28 players.

On offer for those returning tomorrow will be a place on the final table where the winner will walk away with $553,906 and a shiny WSOP bracelet.

In the employees event notable poker reporter Chad Holloway was making headlines of his own as he made it down to the final two of the $500 tournament. After battling his way through almost 900 players the American eventually won a hard-fought battle against Allan Kwong to scoop his first bracelet and $84,915.
