WPT’s Montreal Main Event

WPT’s Montreal Main Event

Friday, 23 November 2012

Today marks the start of the World Poker Tour’s first jaunt into Montreal, Canada, with a $3,300 main event.

Having exceeded expectations since the festival began last week; today’s event will no doubt attract a host of local and international talent.

Already a number of world-class pros, including Marvin Rettenmaier and recent WPT winner Dominik Nitsche, have been tweeting about the atmosphere so far, with the former having to queue for over an hour to register for the $1K side event.

Indeed, with the deepstack event selling out way before the start of the tournament a final total of 386 sat down to compete for the $84,000 top prize. While the likes of Rettenmaier made it into the money (finishing 27th) it was unknown tournament grinder Buck Ramsay who emerged victorious.
Today’s action will kick off later today and will feature the likes of Peter “Apathy” Jetten and perennial WPT grinder, Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler.
