The new World Poker Tour season gets under way on Friday with a $1m guaranteed prize pool on offer courtesy of the bwin WPT Merit Cyprus Classic.
The first of two opening flights in the $4,000+$400 Main Event starts at 1pm on Friday with the second following at the same time on Saturday with the winner set to be crowned on Wednesday. In addition to a packed tournament schedule, some of the biggest names in the game will be in town for some high stakes cash action. The likes of Sam Trickett, Daniel “Jungleman” Cates and the Mizrachi clan (Michael, Robert, Eric and Donny) will be competing in a $50/$100 game on Thursday 15th August. Railbirds can watch the action on a special live stream, complete with hole cards, with Jesse May and Kara Scott on commentary duties. There's plenty of scope for viewer interaction too with spectators able to vote off one player from the table. Viewers can follow all the cash action tomorrow via the PartyPoker Facebook page.
