It seems that the World Poker Tour may have found itself a new home on the US-based Fox Sports Net channel.

The deal was first mentioned on PokerNews, who believe the agreement will see Season VII aired on Sunday nights. The season will consist of 26 episodes, with the shows going out in the prime time slot – any time between 6pm and 10pm. No dates have been finalised for the airings, but it seems that each show will be an hour long, with Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten back at the helm.

The developments would be great news for the millions of World Poker Tour fans. From its early days, the show has been a hit with the fans, even as more shows have cropped up and provided stiff competition to Steve Lipscomb’s enterprise. Even after the show was dropped by GSN recently, many had hoped the show would find a new home.

FSN have flaunted with some poker shows in the past, including most notably the Pokerstars Challenge series. This move will be the biggest poker show to come to the network though, and seems to be a sensible move for both parties concerned. WPT Founder Steve Lipscomb agrees. 'FSN and News Corporation are two incredible powerhouses in the television industry that have played key roles in the growth and popularity of televised poker. It couldn't be a better fit for WPT and our fans. We're thrilled.'

Time for the WPT to shuffle up and deal once again.
