WPT Legends of Poker begins tomorrow

Tomorrow the Bicycle Casino, Los Angeles, plays host to the World Poker Tour Legends of Poker event. For the first time sporting a buy-in of less than $10,000 in order to boost attendance, the $5,000 event will crown a series of 22 preliminary events ranging from $225 to $1,500.
Last year a field of 279 competed in the Legends of Poker event at the LA casino and online legend Prahlad “Spirit Rock” Friedman took down the event after beating November Niner Kevin Schaffel heads-up to earn over $1,000,000.
This year the 22 preliminary events are dominated by Hold ‘em but also feature imit Hold’em, HORSE, Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or better, Limit Omaha 8 or better, half Stud half Omaha Hi-Lo, and Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo. There will be deepstack events, shootout events and re-buys. After the conclusion of the Main Event there will still be a few tournaments to go before the end on August 29.
The WPT comes to London in September and you can still qualify at the Palm Beach Casino, Mayfair, via live events.
