WPT Jacksonville bestbet Open down to six

Tuesday, 30 April 2013

Despite Matt Salsberg making another deep run in a World Poker Tour (WPT) event and adding 75 POY points to his overall tally, the final table at this year’s WPT Jacksonville bestbet Open won’t be a star-studded affair.

The third day of competition in Florida saw the remaining field of 25 players resume their quest for the $321,521 top prize with a number if notable faces including Salsberg looking likely to make the final table.

Tim Reilly, David Sands and Matt Giannetti were also in contention but the more experienced runners soon began to fall by the wayside in place of those keen on forging a name for themselves.

Indeed, after Tony Cousineau’s Qd-9c failed to overcome David Bell’s pocket aces, the final table was set with Danny Schechter leading the chip count. Thanks to a total haul of 3,825,000 chips, Schechter managed to finish the day with over 1.6 million chips than his closest rival, Michael Linster on 2,150,000.

Today’s final table will be streamed live on WorldPokerTour.com from 2:30pm New York time with one player due to walk away with a pile of cash and the WPT Jacksonville bestbet Open title.

Starting final table chip counts for the WPT Jacksonville bestbet Open:

1 Danny Schechter 3,825,000

2 Michael Linster 2,150,000

3 David Bell 1,980,000

4 Pete Chwala 1,180,000

5 Pete Tinnesz 1,035,000

6 David Diaz 375,000
