WPT Foxwoods World Poker Finals Underway

Hot off the back of Glen Witner's win at the North American Poker Championships, the World Poker Tour has now descended on Foxwoods in Connecticut for the 2008 World Poker Finals. Preliminary events have gotten underway, with the main event itself running from 5th - 11th November.
The prelims last year saw some big hitters take down the warm-up events, with Kevin Song, Nam Le, David Fox, Bernard Lee and Paul Lieu all getting victories under their belts before the big one. That event was won by amateur Mike Vela, who beat 574 others for the $1,704,986 first-place prize.
Here's the full line-up of events at Foxwoods in the coming fortnight.
Monday, Oct. 20, 10 a.m.: Event No. 1 ($300 no-limit hold'em shootout)
Tuesday, Oct. 21, 10 a.m.: Event No. 2 ($600 no-limit hold'em)
Wednesday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m.: Event No. 3 ($600 seven-card stud)
Thursday, Oct. 23, 10 a.m.: Event No. 4 ($600 Omaha eight-or-better)
Friday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m.: Event No. 5 ($600 seniors no-limit hold'em)
Saturday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m.: Event No. 6 ($300 ladies no-limit hold’em)
Sunday, Oct. 26, 10 a.m.: Event No. 7 ($600 no-limit hold’em shootout)
Monday, Oct. 27, 10 a.m.: Event No. 8 ($600 seven-card stud eight-or-better)
Tuesday, Oct. 28, 10 a.m.: Event No. 9 ($600 no-limit hold’em)
Wednesday, Oct. 29, 10 a.m.: Event No. 10 ($600 limit hold’em)
Thursday, Oct. 30, 10 a.m.: Event No. 11 ($1,000 no-limit hold’em)
