WPT Enterprises has announced that it has licensed its brand to London-based mobile gambling service provider 3G-Scene Limited for a joint mobile gaming offering. 3G-Scene will provide WPTE with a turnkey solution, including product design, management and sales, for WPTE's mobile gambling offerings globally in countries where such gaming is permitted.
The parties have just released the first version of their jointly-developed mobile Texas Hold'em multi-player poker game, which will be available on select mobile carriers in the UK. Now, using their mobile phones, poker fans served by those carriers will be able to wager real money live against other players also on those carriers.
'We chose 3G-Scene as our partner of choice to help us provide WPTE's international fan base with a compelling real money poker product that complements our already strong position in the global mobile marketplace,' says Steve Lipscomb, WPTE founder and CEO. 'We see this initial venture as the entrance to what we hope will be a vast mobile market.'
WPTE also purchased a 10 per cent stake in 3G-Scene, which WPTE believes will help solidify its long-term relationship with 3G-Scene to further the reach of the WPTE mobile product in the UK and beyond.
