WPT Enterprises, has announced it has signed a succession of sponsorship deals which it hopes will see its brand become a household name. In a strategy that will substantially increase brand presence and ensure that the WPT name is seen everywhere from bookstores to boxer shorts from wallets to mobile phones, the company has created a series of big name corporate partnerships.
Amongst the new partners is HarperCollins, which will market World Poker Tour poker strategy books. These are expected to hit shelves in March to coincide with the tour's third season. Meanwhile home furnishings manufacturer, Dorel Industries, has created wood and metal-framed WPT poker tables, and the Mforma Group will offer games, messaging, ring tones, images, icons and other applications for mobile phones.
As has been widely reported, Hong Kong-based Radica Games is busy making a hand held Texas Hold 'Em game. Bioworld Merchandising Inc. will manufacture a line of WPT hats, leather wallets and other items for speciality and department stores, with WPT-themed boxers and loungewear from Briefly Stated.
