Vladimir Geshkenbein leads EPT Berlin Day 1a

Tuesday, 17 April 2012

The PokerStars European Poker Tour Berlin began yesterday with 243 players competing in Day 1a. Come the end of the day just 110 of them had made it through to Day 2 with Russian pro Vladimir Geshkenbein leading the way.

The only man to take his 30,000 starting stack above the 200,000 milestone, Geshkenbein apparently spent the better part of the day conforming to Russian stereotypes and drinking vodka. Whatever works.

A host of PokerStars Pros survived to Day 2 also, including Barry Greenstein, Vanessa Selbst and Pierre Neuville. Day 1b begins today with a total field of around 700 players expected for the tournament.
