Tuesday, 1 March 2011

Vivek Rajkumar could be on course for a World Poker Tour double after taking the lead at the LA Poker Classic Main Event overnight. The former WPT Borgata winner closed day four with a stack of 3,231,000, over 1m ahead of closest rival Greg Brooks who has 2,326,000 and start of play chip leader Jason Dewitt who finished with 1,916,000.

There are a number of very notable names amongst the 18 remaining players including former WSOP Main Event champion Carlos Mortensen on 1,467,000, Allen Cunningham 1,079,000 and David 'Bakes' Baker on 736,000. Kathy Liebert is also just about hanging in there and will return for day five as one of the short stacks on 304,000.

Rajkumar is the man to beat though and he has fond memories of playing in the LA Poker Classic. He won the $2,500 event in 2008 for a score of $113,425 and added the $9,900 Heads Up title a year later to pocket a further $350,000.

Join us tomorrow to find out who is at the final table and that bit closer to the $1,654,000 first prize.
