Visockis Tops EPT Day 2

Visockis Tops EPT Day 2

Wednesday, 13 March 2013

While Viktor “Isildur1” Blom enjoyed a brief assault on the chip lead after a fortunate coup with 7-8 against Paul Berende’s pocket kings, it was Mantas Visockis who topped Day 2 at EPT London.

Indeed, in a sea of familiar faces, including former EPT champions Liv Boeree (145,300), Jason Mercier (147,800), Mike McDonald (422,100) and Vicky Coren (33,800), it was the relatively unknown Visockis who ascended to the top with a stack of 522,200.

Other notables who'll be returning this afternoon include Chris Moorman (380,300), Theo Jorgensen (333,500), UKIP champ Sergio Aido (251,400), Marcel Luske (196,200), David Vamplew (150,000) and David Williams (134,000).

While Blom lost a large portion of his stack to UKIPT stalwart Nick Abou Risk, he'll still return with a very playable stack of 225,200. The Swede managed to avoid the same fate as Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Roberto Romanello and Sam Trickett who faltered during the day.

In terms of the overall tournament there were few milestones reached yesterday other than the survivors taking one step closer to the money bubble. Indeed, having cut 347 players to 114, today’s session will now enter the money stage after the 97th player hits the rail.
