Ville Wahlbeck the latest Team PokerStars pro

Tuesday, 8 June 2010

Top Finnish pro Ville Wahlbeck is the latest player to join the professional ranks with PokerStars. The 34-year-old, who is probably best know for winning the $10,000 Mixed Game Championship at the 2009 World Series of Poker, joins a pro roster that includes the likes of former Main Event champions Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Peter Eastgate and defending champ Joe Cada.

The Helsinki native didn't just excel in the mixed event last year either, notching up a total of six cashes including 2nd, 3rd and 5th place finishes. He'll make his live debut as a Team PokerStars pro at the PokerStars Baltic Festival in Tallinn, Estonia which runs from 16th to 19th June 2010.

Commenting on the deal the 34-year-old said, “PokerStars has always taken good care of its players and has made an effort to ensure that all the players are treated equally and honestly. Due to these things, PokerStars has been the avant-garde of the whole game and it’s both trusted and appreciated – a reputation which is well-deserved. I am really proud to be part of Team PokerStars Pro.”
