Viktor Blom has a $700,000 swing as Phil Galfond wins over $500,000

It’s almost like having Full Tilt Poker back when you look at the pot-limit Omaha action going on at the nosebleed tables online. This time, though, it’s PokerStars hosting the entertainment for the railbirds with $25/$50 to $200/$400 Omaha tables running seemingly around-the-clock.

Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom was representing Team Pro for PokerStars.com and got off to his usual storming start.

On the Saturday night-slash-Sunday morning sessions, Blom wound up earning more than $550,000 from various opponents. However, it didn’t go so well for him on Sunday evening.

Blom initially lost $200,000 or so of that profit to '1-ronnyr3' (who later lost it back to 'Skjervoy' and Phil Galfond) and then took a break before coming back only to lose another $500,000 to complete a $700,000 reversal of fortunes and put him $200,000 in the hole for the weekend.

Phil 'MrSweets28' Galfond was the main beneficiary of Blom’s losses, playing several heads-up sessions to win more than sixty percent of his total $500,000 weekend winnings from Blom.

Galfond is no stranger to besting Blom at the heads-up Omaha tables, though the $5,000 rebuy WSOP bracelet-winner and BlueFirePoker head coach is universally regarded as the best Omaha heads-up player in the world.
