Verizon Wireless is the latest in a recent string of wireless service providers to offer to deal straight to your hand, as it announces the addition of a skill-based, multi-player Texas Hold’em game to its already impressive cache of downloadable mobile games.
Verizon Wireless' Get It Now customers can now compete in tournaments to win prizes directly from their handsets:
“Hold'em Poker+ for Prizes is a unique and strategic twist on classic hold'em poker, in which players pick their cards to build their best hands and block the virtual opponents,” explained a spokesperson. “Points are scored by creating hands and winning the pot as quickly as possible in multiplayer tournaments. If a player picks a card that was also selected by another player in a current or previous round, the players are both blocked and dealt cards that have no value. The game ends when all hands are completed or time runs out.”
Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, and Atlas Mobile, the worldwide leader in mobile, skills-based multiplayer tournament games in which players compete against each other for fun and prizes, today announced the availability of Hold'em Poker+ for Prizes to. Beginning today, poker enthusiasts can compete in skills-based multiplayer tournaments against other players right from their Verizon Wireless Get It Now-enabled mobile phones. Some tournaments give customers a chance to compete to win prizes.
'Expectations for this title are high,' says Isaac Babbs, President and CEO of Atlas Mobile, partners in the project. 'Poker is in the midst of a resurgence in popularity, and we are proud to present the market with the Hold'em Poker+ mobile poker game where players can compete in continuous tournaments for fun and prizes.'
