Vegas police arrest judge’s son for Bellagio motorcycle robbery

Thursday, 3 February 2011

Sometimes the jokes are too easy. When a man named Anthony Michael Corleo, just two letters away from Al Pacino’s son in The Godfather series, is arrested in connection with a $1,500,000 heist of a Las Vegas casino, it’s really a case of life imitating art. Corleo, the son of a Nevada judge, was arrested attempting to sell high-denomination chips to undercover police.

The robber parked a black motorcycle and left it running outside the north valet entrance of the casino. Helmet on, he ran in with a gun and stole chips with values of $100 to $25,000 from a high stakes craps table before making an exit.

Assad Corleo, the judge in question, was unable to comment on his son’s alleged crime. He has been a Las Vegas judge since 2003. In an ironic twist, Assad worked as a craps dealer in order to make his way through law school.
