Vegas Big Ben comes crashing down

Monday, 20 July 2009

After 5 days work it took only seconds for World Record breaking card stacker Bryan Berg’s latest creation to come crashing down to earth. The 7 feet by 12 feet version of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben had been commissioned by Betfair to promote September’s World Series Of Poker Europe.

As Berg admired his handiwork two men approached him offering their congratulations. One of them then pushed the other into the sculpture bringing the whole lot crashing down. It’s thought that the stunt was staged deliberately as cameras were conveniently on hand to capture it.

A spokesman for Betfair said: "The creation, using no glue, tape or camera tricks but after forty hours of painstaking work the sculpture was demolished in traditional card stacker style leaving the London landmark in tatters."

The WSOPE takes places at The Empire in Leicester Square from 17th September to 1st October 2009.
