Having played under water in the Bahamas, the Extreme Poker Tour has just completed its latest stunt, with Robert Varkonyi winning the InterPoker.com held on an ice field in the Arctic Circle, Finland. To make matters that bit more uncomfortable, he played most of the tournament in just a t-shirt, as players were able to exchange items of clothing for more chips.
Varkonyi lost a lot of his chips early on, but was determined to stay on; his persistence clearly winning out in the end. The original idea for the tourney came from Juha Helppi, who chose the venue after winning the previous game. The tour now moves on more familiar ground: Nevada. Unsurprisingly though, players will not be taking part in the comfort of a Las Vegas casino, but rather in a plane 10,000 feet over the desert. Whenever a player gets knocked out, they have to jump back to the surface – with the aid of a parachute of course!
And you thought playing online for a few bucks beer money was stressful.
