Vanessa Selbst leads £20k EPT High Roller

Sunday, 3 October 2010

It's been a good few months for Vanessa Selbst. The 26-year-old American has earned a sponsorship deal with PokerStars, won an NAPT event and is in pole position to take the Partouche Poker Open when the final table resumes later this year.

The Yale law student is also making a very deep run in the £20k EPT London High Roller event and leads the field at the end of day 1. A total of 77 players ponied up the cash with just 35 remaining by the close of play.

Andrew Feldman is second in the chip counts followed by Fredrik Jensen, Sam Iola, Michael Tureniec and Jani Sointula. Other high profile names still in the hunt for the title include recent English Poker Open winner Fabien Quoss, David Benyamine, Luca Pagano, Juha Helppi, Erik Seidel and Vanessa Rousso. Sam Trickett and WSOPE winner James Bord are both hanging in there but as the two short stacks will have their work cut out making a move.

The top eight will make the money with the winner taking home £556,000.
