Vanessa Selbst heads WPT FIVE Diamond World Poker Classic

The longest name tournament in the world has begun – the Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic. The Bellagio event has attracted big fields and big prizes and this year is no different with 365 runners after Day 1.

Vanessa Selbst was the chip leader at the close of play, amassing a stack of 165,800. Other notables who built up chunky stacks included Allen Kessler 108,475, Alec Torelli 100,500, Antonio Esfandiari 97,350, Erik Seidel 93,100 and McLean Karr 90,875.


Registration is open until 5pm on Day 2 so chip leader Selbst will have to contend with some new players when the 283 survivors return tonight for Day 2.
