Vandal asks for ASBO change so he can play play poker

Anyone who has read Dave Ulliott's autobiography will know how important poker was in steering him away from a life of crime. Well it looks like the Devilfish has inspired one cheeky vandal who has tried to have his ASBO changed so he can play in a pub poker league.

Craig Maher from Leyland was given an ASBO last year after being convicted of seven counts of criminal damage. He is banned from being drunk in public and isn't allowed in parts of the Lancashire town.

The 22-year-old has asked for the terms of his ASBO to be changed, claiming that they are too restrictive. He told the Lancashire Evening Post, “I only want to go to the pub to play poker – I’m not going to get drunk and start any problems. I haven’t done anything wrong at all in 18 months. I think the ASBO has worked because I’m not getting in trouble any more but now I just want it over and done with.”

The police have agreed to the move with the final decision on whether he can play made by Lancashire Magistrates' Court.
