Wednesday, 8 August 2012

The Palm Beach Big Game may have been on unfamiliar territory this month but it once again lived up to its billing as one of the best live events in London.

A stacked field of 62 runners was on hand at the temporary home of the Fox Poker Club on Monday including James Dempsey, Ross and Barny Boatman, Praz Bansi and Britain's only 2012 WSOP bracelet winner Craig McCorkell.

The man who walked away with the bulk of the cash though was Van Pham who pocketed £21,000 after beating a final table that included James Akenhead, Jack Salter, Nick Winsor and Romano Pizzo.

1st Van Pham £21,000
2nd Romano Pizzo £14,000
3rd Rajesh Rughwani £8,500
4th Benjamin Winsor £6,510
5th Nick Irvine £4,650
6th Jack Salter £3,720
7th James Akenhead £2,480
8th Christopher Sly £1,140

The £1,000+£90 Big Game returns home to the Palm Beach in Mayfair next month. There's plenty of tournament action on offer at the Fox Poker Club including the £400+£35 monthly Main Event which features a guaranteed prize pool of £25,000.
