Top trio fall at final hurdle on first day

Thursday, 19 August 2010

It is proving to be a very eventful final stage of the first day in Edinburgh as three highly rated players leave the tournament.

First to go was the winner of the previous UKIPT tournament in Brighton , Jamie Burland. While technically he was knocked out with 6 3 , pushing with a small stack it was when he checked an ace on the flop , to allow his opponent to hit trip jacks , in a previous hand that put him in a critical condition. Third on the UKIPT league table Chris Brammer lost 120,000 chips with a hand that he claimed he would "not wish to be published". He eventually left the tournament when his 9's ran into KK. Marc Goodwin lost a series of smaller pots leaving him to push KQ into AK. "Thats tournament poker" claimed Marc. Indeed it is Marc , indeed it is.
