We are the champions

We are the champions

Despite the fact that only one player will be walking away from the Hilton Metrpole today with free entry to Season 2 UKIPT events, they are all winners. Each man at the table beat out strong fields in UKIPT events this year to make it this far. Who did what? We'll tell you:

Max Silver won the most recent UKIPT event (the EPT London counts but it doesn't, just bear with us) by beating a 589-strong field in Dublin to claim €72,000.

Nicholas Risk risked £550 to enter the UKIPT Edinburgh (see what we did there?) but the risk vs. reward paid off when he walked away with a first prize of £50,000.

Jamie Burland took down the biggest buy-in of the UKIPT at that point back in July when he won over 258 others in the £1,100 Brighton event and pocketed £65,400.

Femi Fakinle has a name almost like a Bond girl but he's a large black man. Funny, that. He won the 253-strong UKIPT Killarney in Ireland back in June for €63,400.

Andrew Couldridge we think looks like Only Fools and Horses car salesman Boycey would look if he let himself go a bit. No offence, Andrew. He won the Dusk Till Dawn-hosted UKIPT Nottingham.

Gilles Augustus beat a field of 368 players at the £550 buy-in UKIPT Coventry in April to boost his bankroll by £46,000. Also he is Belgian. There's some trivia for you.

Joeri Zandvliet makes us glad we have to write names and not attempt to pronounce them. He won £63,200 for his UKIPT Manchester victory.

Padraig Parkinson is an Irish pro and probably the player here that most of the poker world have heard of. He won the first ever UKIPT back in Dublin last December for €125,000.

David Vamplew is, as of last night, the top Scottish tournament earner in poker. He is recovered from a three-hour heads-up battle with John Juanda and ready to add to yesterday's £900,000 payday.
