UKIPT Galway put back a day

UKIPT Galway put back a day

Thursday, 2 December 2010

The appalling weather conditions have meant that the opening leg of the new PokerStars UK and Ireland Poker Tour has been put back a day.

The season opener in Galway was supposed to start this afternoon but organisers have confirmed that it will now commence at noon on Friday.

Registered players who do manage to make it to the west of Ireland can still get some tournament action in though. PokerStars is putting on a €10,000 freeroll at 4pm today as a gesture of goodwill.

The UKIPT's Kirsty Thompson said: "We are very sorry to have to postpone the event by one day, but it is the most sensible and fair option given that so many of our players would have had great difficulty getting here on time for tomorrow's scheduled start."
