UKIPT Galway kicks off season 3, Day 1a completed

Friday, 17 February 2012

The UKIPT returned for season 3 with a boosted €770 buy-in for the first stop of the season in Galway. Day 1a attracted 298 players and with 145 making it through the flight, Thomas Finneran is the chip leader with 89,600.

A lot of top talent was lost throughout the course of the day with Jude Ainsworth, Julian Thew, Jon Kalmar and Liam Flood all hitting the rail throughout the day’s play. Season 1 champion and local hero Padraig Parkinson made it through, albeit with barely more than his starting stack.
Rumour has it that Day 1b today could attract over 400 players, though we know for a fact that Sam Holden and Liv Boeree will be making up at least two of them.
