UKIPT Galway: Nick Abou Risk makes another UKIPT final

Monday, 20 February 2012

Nine players are left in contention at the first event of season 3 of the PokerStars UKIPT and amazingly, defending UKIPT Galway champion Nick Abou Risk is looking for his third UKIPT title in three seasons. Ronan Gilligan leads, building on his UKIPT Dublin and WPT Ireland final tables.

Gilligan holds a huge chip lead with nearly double the stack of second place John Willoughby. All eyes are on Risk, though, who took down UKIPT Edinburgh in season one before winning UKIPT Galway just over a year ago. He is the only player to make three UKIPT final tables and the only double-winner on the tour.

Risk starts the day in eighth place, though, and will need to do some work to lock up the €114,900 first prize. All nine players are guaranteed at least €7,800. The final table chip counts are as follows:

Ronan Gilligan - 2,489,000
John Willoughby - 1,382,000
Craig Burke - 1,283,000
Joe Roberts - 1,103,000
Emmett Mullin - 1,003,000
Aleksandras Rusinovas - 1,003,000
Richard Haile - 652,000
Nick Abou Risk - 647,000
Joris Ruijs - 440,000
