UKIPT Dublin Main Event starts today

The PokerStars UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) returns with the penultimate leg of the current season taking place at Dublin's Ballsbridge Inn starting today.

A bumper field of around 700 is expected for the €500+€60 Main Event with the first of two opening day flights getting under way at 2pm today. A full complement of side events are scheduled including a €1,500 High Roller event as well as a charity bounty and a poker triathlon.


Also hotting up is the UKIPT Leader Board race. Rupinder Bedi currently sits at the top of the table on 200.9 points with Poker in the Park lecturer and Sky Poker pundit Sam Razavi close behind on 200.35. Chris Dowling is next on 196.95 with Nick Abou Risk 172.3 and Paul Nash rounding out the top five on 164.7. The winner of the Leader Board will earn package that contains the buy-ins plus hotel accommodation to all events for UKIPT Season 3.


This year's entrants will be hoping to emulate Max Silver who won the 2010 UKIPT Dublin Main Event, outlasting a 589 runner field to pocket a first prize of €72,000.
