UKIPT Day 1b complete, 1,090 entrants so far.

Friday, 13 April 2012

Day 1a of the PokerStars UKIPT Nottingham matched Day 1a nicely, getting over 500 players out and leaving us with a fraction of that. A total of 558 players competed with 123 joining the 100 survivors from Day 1a.

Leading Day 1b is Ken Stean Isaksen, who worked his 30,000 stack all the way up to 227,600 by the end of play. Day 1c begins today and is expected to be the largest field by far, though only another 339 players will be required to meet the £1,000,000 guarantee.

It wasn't a great day for the notable names yesterday though with recent EPT Copenhagen winner Mickey Petersen, Sky Poker pundits Carlo Citrone and Jamie Burland and PokerStars pro Victor Ramdin all hitting the rail. Surinder Sunar did survive the day though and will return on Saturday with 73,600.

We can expect at least another 500 or 600 players to be added to the field today, bringing us a total field of over 1,500 for the largest-ever UKIPT event and a potential first place prize of more than £200,000. Not bad for a £770 investment.
