UK player “kevsteele” wins second Sunday Million of 2011

Thursday, 10 November 2011

The Sunday Million proceeded as normal at PokerStars this past week – 6,967 entrants put up $215 apiece to create a prize pool of $1.393,400 and every tournament player on PokerStars was gunning for a six-figure first prize.

After ten hours or so, the bubble burst. A few hours later and we had our final nine – it happens every week, but one player had experienced it before. UK-based tournament player “kevsteele” won the Sunday Million back in July, netting $128.8k after a five-handed deal, beating a field of 6,182 players.

This time the field was larger but kevsteele once again made it to the final table, starting out second in chips. He reached heads-up against “V1rtuouzzzzzz” with a 2.5:1 chip lead and – mad props – won the thing with 7-2o. After a four-way deal this time, he takes home $168.8k.
