Students will be taking a break from drinking and protesting about tuition fees this April as the UK Student Poker Championship Grand Final heads to Birmingham.
The £30+£3 event takes place at the Broadway Casino in Birmingham from Tuesday 5 to Thursday 7 April with Betfred giving players an extra incentive to take the title. The tournament sponsor has boosted the prize pool with a World Series of Poker Main Event package worth $12,500. Exeter University student Matt Harris put last year's Betfred WSOP package to excellent use, eventually finishing in 57th place for a $138,285 score.Capacity for this year's tournament has been expanded to 420 but organisers have revealed that it's already well on the way to selling out.
