Paul Wasicka might be best known for his second place finish to Jamie Gold at the 2006 WSOP Main Event. What many don’t know about the affable American is that he has been on something of a tear since. Since finishing second to Gold, he’s won the NBC Heads-Up Championships, cashed in 12th at the 2007 Aussie Millions, and final tabled a WPT event. He also went deep in another WPT event before a 9th place at the 2007 WSOP $5,000 Heads Up event.
The other newcomer to Poker After Dark is Alan Dvorkis, who is better known as Alan Boston. Much quieter in the figurative sense, he is something of a table-talker, and should be a love-hate character for viewers.
'Alan is indeed an interesting character and viewers will not want to miss seeing him in action, as his presence at the table is anything but conventional,' said a press release for the show.
All the hype for Alan’s table talk must surely be purely coincidental to his placement in the same week as Mike ‘The Mouth’ Matusow then. As they like to say, we might want to buckle up for that one, as well as get some ear plugs. Wasicka has been paired with Jamie Gold, which will be only the second occasion they have clashed since 2006 – the other being Season 3 of High Stakes Poker.
