Trio Arrested In Hassan Murder

Thursday, 3 April 2014

Three people have appeared in a UK court this week following the death last month of British poker pro Mehmet Hassan.

After a week of investigations by police, the trio of suspects were arrested on Friday in London and according to a report by the Daily Mail newspaper one of those taken in was Leonie Granger.

Described as a 24-year-old care worker from Gillingham, Kent, Granger is alleged to be the female that father-of-three Hassan took for a meal at the exclusive Nobu restaurant on the evening of March 23. The pair then supposedly returned to the 56-year-old poker player’s apartment in the Islington district, where he was subsequently tied up and robbed before being left to die. A post-mortem examination established the cause of death as neck and chest injuries following a physical assault.

Also arrested and facing charges are 28-year-old Nicholas Chandler and 27-year-old Kyrron Jackson with police continuing to appeal for witnesses as they attempt to strengthen their cases against the alleged attackers.
