Trickett set for $1m WSOP event

Sam Trickett announced on Twitter last week that he was splitting with long time sponsor Titan Poker and he's taken to the Twittersphere again to confirm that he'll be playing in the biggest tournament of the year.

Nottingham's finest wrote, “Just sent my form off to register for the $1m buy inn (sic) tournament. Now im excited for the WSOP...........”


Trickett will be joining a $1m buy-in WSOP One Drop field that currently stands at 30 and includes the likes of Erik Seidel, Tom Dwan, Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreanu, Tony G, Patrik Antonius and an assortment of extremely deep pocketed businessmen.


$111,111 of each $1m buy-in will be donated to the ONE DROP charity with a goal of raising enough money for a legacy project that will help a country gain access to clean water. With the commitment from 30 players already, more than $3.33 million is slated to go to ONE DROP.


The winner of the tournament is set to walk away with a first prize of over $12m.
