Forget Nigel Farage and UKIP, the big story for this week's European elections, for poker fans at least, was the election of Tony G.

Everyone's favourite Lithuanian-Aussie motormouth has been elected to the European Parliament after his Liberal Party gained 16.2% of the vote and two of the 11 seats allocated to the Baltic nation.

Tony announced his candidacy October last year, hoping to shake up the established political order.

“I think that Lithuanian politics needs new people and new blood and I want to change policy,” said the talkative pro. “I have been fortunate enough myself to be reasonably successful in my life and I have new ideas and hope to inspire others to come into politics too. I think I can bring a lot to the table with my experience in life and business.”

We certainly hope so and can't wait to hear his maiden speech.
