Tom “durrrr” Dwan loses $1,000,000 at Full Tilt Poker

Tuesday, 4 May 2010

It’s a good thing that Patrik Antonius is probably going to be shipping Tom “durrrr” Dwan $500,000 for losing the durrrr challenge because the second newest Team Full Tilt member lost big yesterday.

He’s still up around $4.6m for this year but a million dollar hit yesterday has got to sting. Then again, maybe after Isildur1 taught Dwan how to lose properly late last year he can shrug off the smaller, $1m-$2m swings now. Doubt it.

He played Phil Ivey at $500/$1,000 PLO for around 462 hands, losing a little under half a million. However, the main event was the epic, nearly 8,000-hands-long heads-up match with jungleman12 at $200/$400 NL.

The swings were huge – in the end, jungleman12 managed to win $584,000 after being down around $500,000 at one point in their huge 7,928-hand session. For $200/$400, that’s pretty impressive: a 25 buy-in swing.

Watch Dwan take on the best at Full Tilt Poker.
